Facebook Deleted my Page and Appeal without a Response in Chat with Steve

Just a little update on the Facebook saga.
I was LOCKED from being able to remove any posts from the pages that Facebook found offensive (One called Spruce Grove Buy and Sell). I sent an appeal explaining the situation and that I fixed the feed but cannot delete the old posts because the page is "locked". My appeal vanished and I discovered today that the Facebook page in question has been permanently deleted. No notification or e-mail with regard to the deletion or my appeal.

Facebook sucks, the service is becoming poison to our culture and the company itself treats paying customers like trash. I have now informed my customers that I will no longer facilitate Facebook ads or participate in their Facebook campaigns.

Don't Be Evil Google Documentary in Business Ideas

This fellow, Josh Bachynski, is an SEO guru and Google critic created a documentary about "Google's Secret War". He interviews various business owners and SEO experts and explores the ethics of the Google Search algorithms that are supposedly impartial.

Small businesses have a growing dependence on Google's organic search results and at the mercy of the algorithm, which makes it all the more concerning that dropped it's unofficial slogan "Don't Be Evil".

So is Google simply a private company offering a "free" search engine service to the world, or does the power they have accumulated give them a greater ethical responsibility?

Rent it or buy it on iTunes here.

Oil Stock Prices Predictions 2019 in Stock Investing

I am optimistic that Canada will get back on the right track. Sounds like the middle east is having some turmoil which could strengthen prices unless they decide to flood the market.

R.A. said:
"From a strictly technical perspective, it’s hard not to see something as essential as oil making a nice rebound from the hit it took earlier this year. Articles like this show that the climate is changing (sorry for the pun) for the industry.

The middle east sounds hopeful but I’m always a bit cautious in assuming that a flare-up over there will ensure a sustained spike in prices. Diplomats have become disturbingly efficient at smoothing things over - even though this has the smell of something more significant. If I didn’t already own oil-related investments, I’m not sure I’d be taking out a large position now based solely on Iran. It's an interesting aspect of our stock habit that we make the best money when other countries start getting mad at each other. Zero sum game?"

Auto Parts Search Engine - Amazon Local for Car Parts in Business Ideas

Auto Parts Search Engine for Auto Wreckers and Dealerships storing old car and truck parts.

It seems to me this is a good idea, what about a
"Amazon Local" for car and truck parts could prove to be quite successful if salvage yards, auto parts stores, and dealership parts departments were all on board.

As I write this there are people buying car parts on Amazon that are being shipped from China. Meanwhile, the exact same parts are collecting dust on some shelf in that person's home town. This is a very inefficient market when you consider the shipping, storage, customs fees, and interest being paid on old inventory that could be replaced with newer parts.

I actually built a rough pro-to-type of this site for someone here: https://albertawreckers.ca/

The biggest challenge I see setting something like this up is obtaining the lists of parts from these dealers, the ones sitting on the most inventory are the least likely to have the motivation to send in the lists (or they would already be doing something with the excess stock). Another problem is that one would need a large number of auto parts companies to participate in order to make the search valuable to parts seekers.

ATV, Motorcycle, Snowmobile, Quad, and UTV parts instead? I don't know the Auto industry that well, perhaps car and truck parts have already been done to death. Maybe focusing on Motorsport dealers is a better angle.

Farm Equipment parts would also be a great niche but you would really need a specialist to dabble in the Farm Machinery business.

If you're building an online business that monetizes using advertising there needs to be a plan to move to native ads (at least in part). It's too risky to put all your chips on Google Adsense revenue. For this reason, I am weaning off banner ads and enhancing the premium/paid ads that users can purchase.

On one of my sites the website Traffic is up and incredible 75% but Google Adsense Revenue down 39% (Some Banner ads were removed to show less advertising which constitutes some of this drop). Revenue from direct paid ads is up 70%.

Overall I am very happy with Google Adsense as a service. They have demonetized some of the ads for certain content, which is disappointing, but they have good tools and notifications to let webmasters know about the offending pages so they can be fixed. Even if some of our content is not advertiser-friendly, I do not anticipate ever being tossed of their platform. However, every serious webmaster, YouTube creator, or online media business needs to have control over at least 50% of their revenue rather than completely relying on Adsense, YouTube Ads, or Patreon.

Well, Facebook banned another one of my pages so I had to write another rant here: https://bizuns.com/internet/facebook-bans-sprucegrove-buy-sell

Here I get a little into an idea I am working out for an "Amazon Local" type service. A type of online service that may be huge in the future where shoppers can purchase items locally either used from other people or from businesses who have items for sale.

TownPost has a little bit of this baked into our search engine, some of my web design customers have their inventory in the TownPost search. So if you are looking for a specific item it will show you used results followed by local retailers that may be selling exactly what you are looking for.

One of my favorite projects to work on is Intranet sites. In my opinion, every business could save a ton of time if they had their own document management system.

Here's a billion dollar idea for Instagram or Snapchat (maybe they're already doing it). For every photo people take with filters enabled the companies should store the unfiltered versions and then sell them to people in years to come. When many of these kids and teens get older they will realize they want to see their photos without fake makeup and dog ears on their heads. Just a thought...
